Debts without Redemption is the first book covering the financial consequences of the Great War from French reparations after the Franco-Prussian war of 1870/’71 to the last payments on the large British war loan in March 2015.

The book contains many remarkable details about unpaid debts, political expediency and the role of the taxpayer. The book is illustrated with short biographies of the financial leaders during the war; colourful men, mostly forgotten, that made decisions at least as far-reaching as the generals on the battlefield.

The book was first published in Dutch in 2012. In 2017 the book was published in English. The author is currently considering a translation in German and French.
